GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The Gridley Titans youth football teams picked up three victories over the Enterprise Jr. Hornets on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The 8U Titans earned a 34-6 victory over Enterprise. Quarterback AJ Luquin accounted for two touchdowns and recorded three sacks on defense. Running backs Cason Guttierez, Jeremiah Enriquez and Hunter Jimenez also scored for Gridley.

“Overall, it was a great game where we played good complementary football in all three phases,” coach Jesse Vasquez said.

The 8U Titans return home this weekend to face Durham.

Gridley’s 10U Titans opened division play with a 52-20 victory over Enterprise, improving to 4-0 on the season.

Seven Titans found the end zone. Weston Parker scored twice, while Adrian Thao, Emmitt Burns, Jax Terrell, Branston Crislip, Noble Smith and Hendrix Deahn each scored once. Jaxon Branch, Aiden Zavala, Terrell and Hayden Mendonca added extra-point runs.

Coach Randall Huff said the Titans will look to continue their unbeaten start when they host the Durham Jr. Trojans on Sunday.

The 14U Titans completed the successful trip to Enterprise with a 35-26 victory.

Gridley led for much of the game, but two Enterprise kickoff returns for touchdowns kept the Jr. Hornets within reach.

The Titans rushed for 162 yards, with Caleb Oakley, Anthony Flores-Hernandez, Lane Mowles, Maddox Castillo, Victor Guillen and Calhoun Lumsden contributing to the ground attack. Quarterbacks Cal Lumsden and Mowles combined for three touchdown passes.

Gridley also intercepted two passes on defense, including one Blake Craven returned 61 yards for a touchdown.

The 14U Titans, coached by Aaron Lumsden, return home Sunday to face the Durham Jr. Trojans.
