PARADISE, CA (MPG) - Adventist Health Feather River has moved to the Epic electronic health record system, connecting the Paradise-area facility with hospitals and clinics throughout the Adventist Health system.

The system gives clinicians access to a patient's health information through a single electronic record. Adventist Health said the change aims to improve coordination between care teams and reduce the amount of time clinicians spend documenting patient care.

For Feather River patients, the transition also changes how they access their health information. Patients can use the MyChart portal to manage appointments, send messages and review medical records.

“This is the kind of investment we would want for our own families,” Network President Parker Pridgen said. “It gives our caregivers the right information at the right time, allowing them to spend less time on technology and more time connecting with patients.”

Adventist Health said Epic also provides clinicians and staff with AI-assisted tools designed to reduce time spent on documentation.

The transition places Feather River on the same electronic health record used across Adventist Health's hospitals and clinics. The health system said having patient information available through one system can help care teams coordinate treatment when patients receive services at different Adventist Health locations.

Adventist Health Feather River serves communities in Butte and Tehama counties as part of Adventist Health, a nonprofit health system operating more than 440 care sites, including 27 acute care facilities, across the West Coast and Hawaii.
