Biggs Wolverines 2026

2025 Record: 7-5 (4-2 MVL), semifinals of the NSCIF Division VI Playoffs

BIGGS, CA (YSBC) - A familiar face returns to Biggs as head coach Eddie Del Rio returns to the helm of the Wolverines program.

Del Rio was in the program from 2014 through 2018 before he decided to take some time off.

Del Rio expressed to Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports the transition coming back into the program has been good and says the talent inside the program has the capability to do something special.

Del Rio told YSBC he is bringing the same values and structure to the program he had with his previous stint with the program.

Some of those standards include holding his athletes accountable and representing the Biggs community with pride on and off the football field.

Since Del Rio has taken the helm of the program, he also implemented a new way of captains picks.

Del Rio told YSBC that he let the players vote on who their captains are going to be.

Offense

Biggs returns almost 70% of the run production from last season this year and that is going to give a great look up front for the Wolverines.

The trio rushers of Cashten Acosta, Hudson Brewer and Ayden Owen will serve as the primary rushers, but Biggs has multiple weapons on the outside that are going to force defenses to play a balanced scheme.

Acosta and Brewer both return as they led the Wolverines in receiving last season.

Defense

Defensively, the Wolverines will have a lot of names similar from the offense as Biggs enters the 2026 season with 22 athletes on the squad.

Wolverines senior Cameron Kroupa and sophomore Jaiden Bandy will also be key components on the defense along with Acosta, Brewer and Owen.

Del Rio told YSBC he has always been a defensive minded coach and he is excited to see how his defense performs every Friday night.

Kroupa finished fourth in the entire Northern Section last year with 137 total tackles.

All of the Wolverines expressed to YSBC that they have enjoyed the structural dynamic that Del Rio and his staff has implemented so far.

The Biggs athletes told YSBC that they want to show everyone in the Northern Section it’s their time to raise that plaque after winning a section title and they are a small school that can compete with higher-level competition.
