LIVE OAK, CA (MPG) - The Live Oak Little League 10-12 Softball teams’ journey may have ended in Greenville, North Carolina on Aug. 4, but the memories from this past summer will be remembered for a lifetime.

Live Oak was eliminated from the Little League Softball World Series by Asia-Pacific (Japan) and went 0-2 in the tournament, but still was recognized as one of the top 12, 10–12-year-old teams in the world.

Live Oak head coach Evan Martinez expressed to Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that the girls endured a once in a lifetime experience.

In Greenville, Martinez told YSBC the girls had a great time and wanted to make their community proud that has supported them from the start.

Without a doubt, the Yuba-Sutter area has backed this group for the second-straight year, but it wasn’t just during the summer.

As LO only had one major team in the program this past spring, every game was jam-packed with support where the entire stands were filled and chairs lined the fences surrounding the field.

The support from their summer 2025 journey to the West Regionals never faded.

Martinez told YSBC the support year-round was amazing and used examples of the state championships where the LO faithful had the biggest support in Sacramento, including over Natomas, who hosted the tournament.

The girls had the opportunity to learn and grow in the game of softball as they got to travel across the country and meet athletes from all-around the world.

Players from the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) watched the action from Greenville and supported all 12 teams in the LLSWS.

On Aug. 5, the AUSL players participated in an All-Star Game at East Carolina University.

The journey this team experienced was rare since the middle of June in the face of adversity by facing multiple elimination games and celebrated the endless banners of success, but they are proud to be from Live Oak!
