LIVE OAK, CA (MPG) - The Live Oak 10-12 All-Star Softball team punched their ticket to the Little League Softball West Regional after they won the North California State Championship on July 7.

This is the second-straight year that Live Oak has won the NorCal title and will head to San Bernardino for the West Regional on July 18-23.

Live Oak won the NorCal State final as they went 3-0 in the five-team tournament. They beat Pinole 5-0 on July 4 where pitcher Eveya Martinez dominated in the circle as she tossed a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks.

Live Oak followed the opener with a comeback victory over Turlock LL as outfielder Olivia Smith hit a game-tying run-batted-in (RBI) single to right.

As the right fielder attempted to throw Smith out at first, infielder Julianna Robles didn’t take her foot off the petal from second as she rounded third and slid home safely for the win.

During the championship on July 7, Martinez struggled to locate the strike zone and get out of the first inning after she quickly got the first two outs of the inning.

Pinole had an early 2-0 lead in the first before Martinez was relieved by Charlotte Dudek in the circle.

Dudek came in relief on fire as she struck out the first five hitters she faced and ended the game with 11 total.

Live Oak pounded seven runs and five hits to take a 7-2 lead after the fourth.

Live Oak catcher Hannah Lancieri led the way offensively with three hits, including two doubles followed up by infielder Brooke Duran with two hits and three RBIs.

Dudek tossed the final five ⅓ innings as she allowed one hit and four walks for the win.

As Live Oak returns to SoCal for the second-consecutive year, head coach Mitchell Perigo said there are a lot of positives heading into this year's regional compared to last year.

Perigo told Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that a huge advantage is a good majority of the team knows what to expect this year.

From playing in front of tv cameras, to top-notch facilities at the grounds in San Bernardino, Live Oak will be one of the few returnees to the regional.

Live Oak had the entire Yuba-Sutter behind them in 2025 and Perigo said he’d love to see the support rally behind the girls once again for their hard work and to represent our area.

There is a go-fund me page for the journey to San Bernardino and you can find it at https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-live-oaks-backtoback-champions

The team is also having a spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, July 14 at 5 p.m. where there is no cost for food and donations are welcome.

The event will be held at the Live Oak Community Center that includes a social hour, meet and greet with the players, dinner along with raffles and auctions.

Live Oak plays their opening round matchup of the West Regional on Saturday, July 18 at 3 p.m. against the Southern California representative on ESPN plus.
