BIGGS, CA (MPG) - Biggs Assembly of God Church will host the second of two community fellowship events from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 17.

Pastor Bob Culverson invites community members to enjoy a summer evening of food, fun and fellowship. The free event will feature hot dogs, water slides and family activities. Adults must remain with their children throughout the event.

The first fellowship was held June 19 with little advance advertising and during the Juneteenth holiday. Culverson hopes more residents will attend the second event despite the short notice.

"We really just want to be involved in the community," Culverson said, adding that he hopes the event will bring people together and strengthen neighborhood connections in Biggs.

As the new school year approaches, the church also plans to give away backpacks and school supplies.

"We are doing backpacks a little early because school starts earlier in Biggs," Culverson said, adding that children will be able to choose their own backpacks. The church has also assembled school supply packs so students are prepared for the first day of school.

"Come out and enjoy the fellowship free of charge," Culverson said.
