SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The Live Oak Little League 10-12 softball All-Star team is one win away from clinching their second-straight Northern California Championship.
LOLL clinched the CA Shasta Section Championship on July 1 after they had to beat Chico LL twice to secure that crown.
The short turn around onto the United States of America’s 250th birthday celebration started with a 5-0 win over Pinole.

LO pitcher Eveya Martinez was dominant in the circle once again as she pitched a complete-game one hitter with 11 strikeouts and zero walks in the win.
The LO hitters displayed discipline at the plate as they drew seven walks and infielder Charlotte Dudek led the way with two hits.
LO outfielder Athena Hough brought in the first run of the game with a bases-loaded walk in the first and lined a run-batted-in (RBI) single in the fourth.

Martinez lined a double down the left-field line in the second to help her cause in the circle.
On Sunday, LO faced a gritty Turlock LL team in the semifinals where the game went down to the wire.
LO took a 1-0 lead in the second when Olivia Smith hit the ball to the right side. They extended their lead 2-0 in the third when catcher Hannah Lancieri lined a ball up the middle for an RBI single.
Turlock answered back in the fourth with two-RBI singles off Martinez to tie the game.

Turlock took a late 3-2 lead in the seventh on a sacrifice bunt back to Martinez.
In the bottom half of the seventh, down to their final out and runners on second and third Smith hit a hard line drive ast a diving Turlock second baseman that scored infielder Riley Perigo to tie the game.
LO head coach Mitchell Perigo waved infielder Juliana Robles the whole way from second base even though the right fielder attempted to throw Smith out at first.

It was a bang-bang play at the plate, but Robles clearly beat the ball home and slid under the tag that advanced LO to its second-straight Northern California Championship.
Pinole and Turlock played Monday and the winner would have had to beat LO twice to win the bracket and move on.
If LO won on Tuesday or Wednesday, they would compete in the Little League Softball West Regional Tournament in San Bernardino on July 18-23.
