GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Gridley Quota delighted guests with its 90th anniversary celebration, "An Enchanted Evening in the Garden," on Thursday, June 18.
Carefully arranged live plants, flowers and trees decorated the interior of the Feather Room at the Butte County Fairgrounds. A large display featuring "90" at the entrance welcomed guests to the anniversary dinner.
Grazing tables were set up for guests to enjoy, courtesy of City Cafe, which also served wine to guests redeeming drink tickets.

Quotarian Maggie Hepworth welcomed attendees before a dinner of tri-tip and chicken was served.
The purpose of the evening, beyond highlighting the extensive role Quota has played in the Gridley community over the years, was to thank those who have supported the organization both in the past and today.
"Quota is a service organization that literally goes out and gives services with our hands and our feet, and we also give service financially to a lot of female organizations and youth groups," said Hepworth.
Hepworth illustrated the extent to which Quota has touched the community by asking those in attendance who had received a scholarship from the group to stand, those who had been part of an organization that received a Quota donation to raise their hands, and those who had attended a Quota luncheon to identify themselves.
Gridley FFA students volunteered during Quota’s 90th anniversary celebration, helping with event setup, meal service and cleanup.
Whether standing or raising their hands, nearly every person in the room had been impacted by the organization in some way.
In addition, Quota made another donation to the community by presenting a $5,000 check to Dr. Maralee Bowers and Caring for Women, a women's support agency in Gridley.
According to Bowers, Caring for Women serves women facing pregnancy-related challenges by providing access to healthcare information, counseling, parenting classes and resources such as diapers, formula and STD testing.
Quota unanimously agreed to support Caring for Women during a recent meeting and chose the anniversary dinner to present the donation.
A grateful and emotional Bowers accepted the donation before the evening continued with dinner and celebration.
"I am so thankful for both the material support and the community involvement for this most important work in supporting young families in need," said Bowers. "Quota is upholding its mission of empowering women and children in our community."
