GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - As the school year ended, Gridley Quota took time to recognize the recent scholarships awarded to area students for their academic success.
Quota offers a variety of scholarship opportunities and uses its fundraising events to support them. These include High School Academic Scholarships, Legacy Scholarships awarded to family members of current Quota Club members, Trade School Scholarships and the Ruth Roush Memorial Scholarship.
This year, Biggs High School Academic Scholarships of $1,500 each were awarded to Gracie Sheppard and Rubi Ramos.
Gridley High School Academic Scholarships of $1,500 each were awarded to Tatiana Rivero, Joseph Schohr, Valentin Martinez, Isabella Bastiani, Gemma Donati and Bikram Kullar.
Live Oak High School Academic Scholarships of $1,500 each were awarded to Ashleen Madare, Harjot Kullar, Jasiel Estrada and Jiya Rai.
Legacy Scholarships for Biggs High School were awarded to Russell Cote and Gracie Sheppard. The Gridley High School Legacy Scholarship recipients were Gemma Donati and Jace Cummins of Sutter High School. Ava Hepworth of Las Plumas High School and Cecilia Ann Davis of Pleasant Valley High School also received Legacy Scholarships.
The Ruth Roush Memorial Scholarships, totaling $1,000 each, were awarded to Branson Busch and Bikram Kullar of Gridley High School.
Only one student applied for the Trade School Scholarship. That award was presented to Noah Holt of Live Oak High School.
Gridley Quota calculated that it awarded a total of $23,700 in scholarships. That figure does not include the $10 gift cards and lunches provided to 52 students from Biggs, Gridley and Live Oak high schools during the annual Quota Scholarship Luncheon held earlier this year.
