GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The ladies of Gridley Quota held their annual Scholarship Lunch on May 13 at Butte Hall at the Butte County Fairgrounds.
The group hosted academically high-performing students from Biggs, Live Oak and Gridley high schools for a luncheon and celebration.
The event moved to a new venue this year. In previous years, the scholarship lunch was held at the Presbyterian Church meeting hall, where Quota regularly meets.
To qualify for the scholarship lunch, students had to maintain a GPA of 3.9 or higher. Due to the growing number of qualifying students, Quota President Maggie Hepworth said the club decided to move the event to the larger venue at Butte Hall.
Students who attended also participated in a game in which each student received either a $10 or $20 gift certificate in recognition of their academic achievements.
