GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - After a brief hiatus, Board Game Knights has reopened its downtown Gridley gaming studio with expanded offerings and a growing community of players.
The family-owned business at 556 Kentucky St. gives visitors access to hundreds of board games, card games and puzzles played on specialized gaming tables.
Owner Miguel Rubio said the goal is to create a welcoming space for players of all ages and experience levels. Rubio often helps customers learn game rules and understand gameplay mechanics.
Since reopening, Board Game Knights has introduced several new features, including individual and family memberships along with a six-pack pass that includes six prepaid day entries. Standard daily passes also remain available.
Rubio recently launched a Sunday night Lotteria event, a Mexican bingo-style game open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first round begins at 5:30 p.m.

Admission costs $5 or a minimum $5 purchase from the snack bar. Players can win small gift cards and other prizes. The event has no age restrictions.
Board Game Knights continues to build a following among residents looking to spend time away from screens while reconnecting through traditional games and fantasy role-playing experiences.
Local resident Emilio Vera said the atmosphere keeps people coming back.
“It’s having fun with your friends,” Vera said, adding that the snack bar is “awesome.”
Board Game Knights is open Tuesday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The business is closed Sundays and Mondays, except during special events.
