GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Gridley Quota filled Veterans Memorial Hall with patrons seeking a meal May 1 during its annual Quota Salad Luncheon.

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., members in blue refreshed a buffet table stocked with a variety of pasta, fruit and vegetable salads.

The group also offered sweet treats and desserts for those with room to spare after the meal.

Quota President Maggie Hepworth said the event drew more than 300 attendees.

While some guests dined, others browsed vendor booths, participated in the annual 50/50 raffle and entered to win prizes and gift baskets. Winners were announced by Hepworth near the end of the luncheon.

Kari Wheeler won the 50/50 raffle.

“I think it was very successful. I have heard a lot of great comments,” said Pat Teague, Quota member and treasurer.

The luncheon was held at Veterans Memorial Hall, a change from its previous location at Jake’s at the Butte County Fairgrounds.

Hepworth said the new venue was a good fit.

“We loved it at the Memorial Hall,” Hepworth said. “It was the perfect setting.”

Gridley Quota thanked committee chair Tina Haro and co-chair LaWanda Jaramillo for organizing the event, as well as the community for its continued support.
