BIGGS, CA (YSBC) - The Biggs Wolverines softball team snapped their three-game losing streak as they beat the Maxwell Panthers 14-0 on April 23.
Biggs had over a week to reflect on the losing streak as two of their three losses came off the bats of the Quincy Trojans in a doubleheader on April 16.
Quincy is the lone team in the Mid-Valley League without a loss currently. The Wolverines made an early statement against Maxwell and put the game out of reach early.
Biggs had their first seven hitters reach a base safely in the bottom of the first and quickly led 5-0 after the first.

Wolverines senior pitcher Gracie Sheppard dominated the Panthers lineup for the complete game shutout as she allowed two hits and sent nine hitters back to the dugout empty on strikes.
Sheppard led Biggs during the game with three hits at the plate and two runs-batted-in (RBIs).
The Wolverines blasted the scoreboard again as they scored nine runs in the second inning, including eight of their 15 hits in the game.
Biggs head coach Zonah Headley told Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that the three-game losing streak was a wake up call for the Wolverines.

Headley expressed that the defending NorCal Division V champions have a target on their back and get everyone’s best effort on a game-by-game basis.
The Wolverines have a stout- lineup offensively that has seven players who are hitting more than .375 and four people with 20 or more RBIs.
Headley told YSBC that the main goal moving towards the remaining two weeks of the season are health and playing clean defensively.

Biggs has a grueling schedule as they are scheduled to play Hamilton this week in MVL play and still have Portola in league before they end the season with senior day by hosting East Nicolaus.
The Wolverines will have an advantage in their final six contests as they host five of them. Biggs has yet to yield a game at home this season.
Biggs was scheduled to host Hamilton on Tuesday and travel to play the Braves today with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
