OROVILLE, CA (MPG) - Juvenile justice court hearings in Butte County will temporarily relocate to the main courthouse in Oroville beginning June 1 as construction starts on an expansion and renovation project at the county’s juvenile hall facility.

The Superior Court of California, County of Butte announced the closure of the Juvenile Hall courtroom at 51 County Center Drive, where hearings are currently held. The closure will remain in effect until further notice while work begins on the planned addition.

During the construction period, all juvenile justice proceedings will take place at the Butte County Courthouse, located at One Court St. in Oroville. Court officials said updated hearing times and locations will be provided directly to affected parties by mail.

The project is part of an effort to improve court operations and expand the functionality of the juvenile hall facility. Additional details about the construction timeline and scope are available through the court system.

Officials said confidentiality requirements for juvenile cases will remain unchanged despite the temporary relocation.
