CHICO, CA (MPG) - Valley Oak Children’s Services will host its annual Children’s Faire on Saturday, April 11, bringing families and community organizations together in downtown Chico.
The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chico City Plaza, 132 W 4th St, and will feature activities, performances and resources for families with young children. This year’s theme, “It Takes a Village,” highlights the network of local organizations, businesses and community members that support families across Butte County.
Dozens of local agencies and child-focused businesses are expected to participate, offering information, materials and hands-on activities. Live performances from local youth groups will take place throughout the day.
Valley Oak Children’s Services will also provide free bike helmets and child swim safety vests on a first-come, first-served basis. The giveaways aim to promote safety as children take part in outdoor play and recreation.
Families can visit the Valley Oak booth to learn more about available programs, including childcare referrals, family resources and support services. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and help connect families with services in the community.
The event is supported by agency sponsor Butte Construction Company. Organizers encourage families to attend and take part in a day focused on connection, resources and community engagement.
