BUTTE COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team has received a $7,500 grant from Brad Jacobson Farmers Insurance Agent and Farmers Insurance to help purchase safety equipment used in helicopter rescue operations.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the funding will support the purchase of helicopter rescue technician gear including helmets, communications equipment, flight suits and flight harnesses used during short-haul and helicopter rescue missions.
Officials said the equipment will help protect Search and Rescue volunteers as they assist in complex rescue operations throughout Butte County.
Search and Rescue teams assist law enforcement and emergency responders during wilderness rescues, missing person searches and other incidents requiring specialized training and equipment.
