GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The Gridley Quota Club is helping locals in need access affordable clothing through its thrift store while also supporting teens searching for prom dresses.
Although the Gridley group is not holding its own event, members are currently collecting used prom dresses for the Oroville Quota Club’s 21st Annual Prom Project.
The Prom Project provides free prom attire to high school students in the area.
“We support our sister club in Oroville Quota,” said Gridley Quota Club President Maggie Hepworth.
Hepworth said the Gridley store is accepting donations and hopes to see more dresses donated.
The Gridley Quota Thrift Store is located at 550 Spruce St. in Gridley and is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All net proceeds from the store support Quota scholarships awarded to senior students at Gridley, Biggs and Live Oak high schools.
The store regularly accepts donations and asks that items not be left outside the building but brought in during store hours to prevent messes.
The 21st Annual Prom Project, hosted by Quota of Oroville, is scheduled for March 24 through March 27 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pursuit Church, 2295 Foothill Blvd., Oroville. For more information, call Kiki Silva at 209-329-1057.
