GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The Gridley Museum has partnered with the Gridley Herald to launch a historical photo contest titled “Then & Now.”
Beginning this week and continuing for 17 weeks through July 4, a historic photo of a Gridley-area landmark will appear in the Herald as it looked in the past. Community members are invited to identify the present-day location of each landmark based on the historic image.
Participants must submit their best guess of where the building was originally located and where it is now. Entries should include the photo number, the participant’s guess, full name, phone number and email address. Limit one guess per person, per photo.
The final photo will publish July 4. An answer key will run after the contest closes so participants can compare their responses. The individual who correctly identifies the most locations will receive a $100 cash prize.
The contest is open to residents of Gridley, Biggs and Live Oak, California, ages 12 and older.
The Gridley Museum is located at 601 Kentucky St. in Gridley. For more information, call 530-846-4482.
