OROVILLE, CA (MPG) - Area singers and musicians will present Rob Gardner’s “Lamb of God” on Palm Sunday, March 29 at 6 p.m. at the Oroville State Theatre. Admission is free and tickets may be reserved at Eventbrite.com by searching “Lamb of God Oroville.”
The 90-minute oratorio depicts the final week of Jesus Christ’s life, including the raising of Lazarus, the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the crucifixion and the resurrection. Soloists portray central figures such as Mary, Martha, Peter, John, Judas and Pontius Pilate.
Singers and musicians from the Temple Hill Choir in Oakland will join local performers. Alan Chipman, director of the Temple Hill Choir, will conduct the performance.
Organizers describe the event as an interfaith celebration of Christ’s resurrection, bringing together performers from across the region for the Palm Sunday program.
