BIGGS, CA (MPG) - Biggs High School cheerleaders competed at the California Interscholastic Federation State Cheer Championship Invitational on Jan. 31 in Folsom.
The team entered the non-tumbling medium-sized school division under the direction of Angie Cote.
“This is the first time Biggs High has ever had a competition team,” said Cote.
Cote added that the routine combined cheer and dance elements, with a focus on stunts and pyramids.

Earlier in the season, the team placed second at the CIF Northern Section competition in the novice category on Jan. 17. Biggs was one of 100 high schools selected to compete at the CIF State Championships.
At the state event, the Wolverines faced 10 teams in their division and placed seventh overall.
“I could not be prouder of these girls and their drive to succeed,” said Cote. “This was a huge accomplishment, and we are looking forward to a bigger and better season next year.”
