The Hutchison’s, Hale’s, and Poole’s led the parade with extra Christmas spirit. Each one was dressed in costume and ready to spread holiday cheer!
GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The Eagle Meadows neighborhood looks innocent enough as you turn into their subdivision, but they are hiding something.
There isn’t a set date or time for the Eagle Meadows parade each year, but members of the community organize together on a private social media page to bring the extra holiday magic to the quiet streets of the neighborhood.
Depending on the year and those who voluntarily participate, the secrete community parade can be rather decently sized or modest, but those who enter often have big plans for holiday fun.
Friday, Dec. 5, families and residents of the Eagle Meadows neighborhood began to line up at the end of Jay Drive, bringing their Christmas spirit.

The Wheelers got into the spirit and made sure to wish their community “Merry Christmas” with their entry.
This year the Hutchison, Hale and Poole families got together to create a large float, pulled by a John Deere tractor. An oversized elf from the North Pole rode in the lifted bucket of the tractor, blowing snow through the neighborhood and peppering the following parade with snowflakes.
As the float adorned with little elf girls and boys and decorative inflatables followed, so did a myriad of side-by-sides, 4-wheelers and Santa in classic convertible. Snow added to the feeling of Christmas in the freezing December air.
As the caravan wound through the neighborhood, two Grinches began to duke it out for supremacy.

These boys are getting ready to light up their neighborhood with their smiles. Pictured from left to right: Benson Fontaine, Cal Lumsden and Dean Lumsden.
As local tradition dictates, waiting at the end of the parade route was taco truck Taqueria Dona Tere from Magalia. For the past few years, the taco truck has joined the festivities, providing warm reprieve from the cold with their complimentary signature homemade hot cider.
As residents retreated for the evening, Elf Sarah Hutchison, who helped put together the largest float in the parade said, “Hopefully it will be bigger and better next year!”
