GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Gridley Titans were home this past Saturday, to take on Las Plumas Jr Thunderbirds.

The Titans coming off a bye, came in 6-0 and the Jr. Thunderbirds came in at 5-1.

The Titans got the ball first and after three plays, they were on the board with a touchdown run by Boss Davis.  Gridley’s offense put up five touchdowns on Saturday. With touchdowns by Boss Davis (2), Ashton Hospers (1), Morgan Ruggirello(1) and Adrian Thao (1).

The Titans also had a player reach the end zone for the first time when Rey Solorio ran in an extra point Saturday.

The other extra points were scored by Jesse Delgado and Julian Camargo.

The Titans defense, like in past weeks, was too much for Las Plumas, holding the Thunderbirds to zero points and only a handful of first downs. Morgan Ruggirello had an interception, and Quentin Ontiveros had a forced fumble recovered by Ruggirello.

The Titans close out the regular season this Saturday against the Central Valley Jr. Falcons in a battle of the unbeaten at 3 p.m. There is also a first seed playoff spot on the line this Saturday. The first playoff round will be the weekend of Oct. 25.
