GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – Midway through the season, the Gridley Titans youth football teams have a bye-week, which lets the teams recoup some energy. Meanwhile, the Titans Cheerleaders have their moment to shine.

The weekend of Oct. 4-5, the Titans 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U cheer teams performed at Williams Jessup University.

“At this event the girls on the 10U, 12U and 14U performed a 2:30 minute performance to be judged and see if they can score enough points to qualify and move onto the main cheer competition that will be held on Nov. 2,” said Yolie Davis.

Scores were released early, and the Titans Cheerleaders are happy to announce that all 3 cheer teams will be proceeding on to the main competition in November.

Not only did the older teams do well, the 8U Titans Cheerleaders performed exceptionally well.

“Our 8U girls decided to do a halftime performance and they placed first place in their division. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication to their sport,” said Davis.

Gridley Titans football resumes play this weekend taking on Las Plumas on Sunday, Oct. 12. The Cheerleaders will provide winning spirit as the teams take on their rivals.
