LIVE OAK, CA (MPG) – The stealth approach that the Live Oak Lions had on homecoming, paid off big-time.
Getting the drop and celebrating homecoming earlier in the season, Live Oak High school kept to tradition with its typical schedule of revelry.
Spirit days and float building filled the week of Sept. 22 -26, with a theme of “To Hoco and Beyond: a Pixar Homecoming.”
The freshman float featured a “Coco” theme, with sophomores’ float based on the movie “Ratatouille” and the juniors building an “Up” themed piece. Seniors constructed their float based on a “Cars” theme. Students’ creativity and hard work shined. Juniors took the overall win with first place: seniors pulled in second, freshman third string and sophomores placed fourth.

The Lions paraded through town before ending the week with a killer football game against the Central Valley Falcons.
During the half-time Homecoming King and Queen, Zachary Moody and Paulina Martinez Pureco were crowned as 2025 royalty.
The Live Oak High School Cheerleaders performed a rousing half-time show, after which the varsity Lions took the field. Ultimately, Live Oak sent the Falcons packing with a win of 47-34 over Central Valley.
