BUTTE VALLEY, CA (MPG) – On Friday, Sept. 12, our Training and Safety Bureau, alongside several field Battalion Chiefs, hosted a multi-company drill at our Openshaw Training Center.

Crews from CAL FIRE, Town of Paradise FD, Butte County FD and Oroville Fire Department sharpened their skills in forcible entry, VES (Vent, Enter, Search), ladder operations and fire attack scenarios.

Each engine company rotated through hands-on training stations and assisted with reoutfitting equipment after the fire attack scenario.

These drills are essential to our operational success. With multiple equipment manufacturers and evolving engine designs, ensuring our personnel are familiar with every tool, engine and truck helps us respond safely and effectively when the tones drop and smoke fills the air.
