Search Ends for Missing Gridley Man

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – The search ended Monday for a missing Gridley man.
Charles Harrison, 57, was reported missing in the Manzanita area Sunday evening, Aug. 10 by family members.
As reported by Gridley Media Group, Harrison’s golf cart and shirt were discovered at the corners of Richards Avenue and River Road.
A search ensued for Harrison, who was believed to be wearing black shorts and possibly swimming in the canals in the Richards Avenue area.
Butte County Search and Rescue, CalFire Swift Water Rescue and Butte County Sheriff’s department resources were deployed to search the waterways and canals throughout the Manzanita areas.
Search efforts resumed early Monday morning for the man, including ground and aerial resources.
Harrison was located a substantial distance south from where he was reported missing, in the Sutter-Butte Canal off Metteer Road.
At the time of this article, Harrison’s death remains under investigation.
