BIGGS, CA (MPG) – Representing Biggs High School, Johnny Conn #77, Logan Harrison #10, Ethan Villanueva #75, and Brady Smith #1 turned out to play in one of the most anticipated games of their post-high school careers the 48th Annual Lions All-Star Football Game.

The athletes kicked off at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at the Chico High School stadium in the South Division 4,5 & 6.

Playing for the South, Conn, Smitha and Harrison would show off their moves that earned them the title of All-Stars.

Brady Smith #1, Biggs, holds off multiple defenders as he attempts to return the ball for yards.

The North would put two points on the board early and answer back with another shortly after with another touchback in the first quarter.

Tough calls by referees would see yards lost to penalties and a questionable play was called a sac when the quarterback for the South, Noel Velazquez #4 (Maxwell) didn’t appear to be downed.

With 6 minutes left in the second quarter, the South would finally put numbers on the board, with the kick being good, the South would lead 8-4.

Biggs’ Logan Harrison #10 (listed as #23 in program) tackles a North team ball carrier, taking him to the ground.

The South would spend most of the first half of the game in North territory, pushing to hold them close to their end zone and score.

Smith would prove to be a pivotal tool in the Souths arsenal, looking to pick off plays, sack the QB and capitalize on both the short and long passes fed to him by Velazquez or Tom Wolf #11 (Herlong).

Defensive players’ Harrison’s speed would put him on a target quickly and Conn proved to be a wall offensive linemen couldn’t penetrate.

Johnny Conn #77 uses his formidable size to protect the pocket and halt the North forward progress.

The South would score another touchdown, making it a 12 – 8 game heading into halftime.

Coming back from the break the North would rally with an increasing number of flags beginning to hamper the South.

Despite constant pressure the North exerted on the South as they edged towards the rival end zone, Velasquez managed to get it to Smith for another touchdown. The kick would be no good.

The North would score another touchdown, add another two with a good kick for a final score of 22-18.
