GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Having five generations of a family alive simultaneously is a relatively rare event, with the odds reported at around one in 10,000 in the U.S.

Even so, a local family has achieved this. Bob and Judy Scott raised seven children in Gridley, with Roy Scott their second-oldest child. Roy’s daughter Charity Scott, granddaughter Veronica Sisk-Roman and great-granddaughter Rosetta Sisk-Roman complete the five generations.

“You’ve got to be pretty old to be able to qualify for it, it sounds to me,” said Bob Scott, who turns 90 years old this summer.

Judy Scott said, “I can’t believe it happened already. It’s a neat experience to realize we’ve been hanging around that long for five generations. Any new baby is a blessing.”
