Gridley High School Wrestlers Place at Masters

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Four Gridley High School student athletes stood on the podium at the Northern Section California Interscholastic Federation Masters Tournament over the weekend at Las Plumas High School. Their incredible talent and determination were showcased after qualifying at the Division 2 Wrestling Tournament held at Gridley High School on Feb.15.

In the girls' division, Gridley senior Guadalupe Tinoco clinched a spectacular third place at 132 pounds, while freshman sensation Malanya Ceballos also secured a third-place finish at 122 pounds. Sophomore Ava Campos put up an impressive fight, placing fifth at 125 pounds. 

In the boys' division, sophomore Miguel Avina roared into the heavyweight division, earning a hard-fought fourth place.

The Gridley High School wrestling coaches are pleased to witness the program's growth with a surge of talented wrestlers. The remarkable achievements of these student athletes underscore the unwavering dedication and commitment of both the coaches and wrestlers, setting the stage for an exciting future for the Gridley High School wrestling team.
