BIGGS, CA (MPG) - On Feb. 21, the Biggs High School girls’ basketball team defeated Los Molinos 48-34 at home in the second round of the 2025 D6 Northern Section California Interscholastic Federation (NSCIF) Basketball Tournament. The victory sent the Wolverines into the tournament’s semifinal round.

The Wolverines entered the tournament as the number one seed with an overall season record of 21 wins against five losses, and as such, had a bye in the first round. 

The matchup against the No. 7 seeded Los Molinos Bulldogs on Feb. 21 was hard fought with Los Molinos outscoring the Wolverines 23-20 in the first half. The Wolverines’ half-time adjustments were highly effective as the Wolverines came out firing in the second half and outscored Los Molinos by 11 points in the third quarter and five points in the fourth quarter.

Next up for the Biggs High School girls’ basketball team is a D6 NSCIF Basketball Tournament semifinal matchup against Fall River High School. The semifinal matchup was scheduled at Biggs High on Feb. 26, after press time.
