County Clerk-Recorder Offers Valentine’s Day Marriage Ceremonies

BUTTE COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The Butte County Clerk-Recorder’s Department is ready to make Valentine’s Day special for couples who want to get married. Each couple will receive a rose to make the day extra special.

The department’s private ceremony room will seat 18 of your family and friends. His and hers sterling wedding bands are also available for purchase. Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age or older. The fee for a public marriage license, ceremony and a certified copy will be $183.

Couples will need to complete the following for a Valentine’s Day wedding:

Make an appointment by calling 530-552-3400, option number 2 for available times.

Complete their marriage application online prior to Valentine’s Day.

Bring at least one witness for the ceremony.

Present valid government-issued photo identification at appointment.

Payment options include cash, credit/debit card (an additional $2.50 fee applies), check, cashier’s check or money order made payable to Butte County Clerk-Recorder.

Weddings will take place from 8:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. Feb. 14.
