OROVILLE, CA (MPG) - On Nov. 4, the Butte County Department of Water and Resource Conservation (BCDWRC) received the prestigious Farm City Celebration Community Service Award.

This award recognizes organizations that significantly contribute to Butte County’s agriculture industry and support the Farm City Celebration Program.

The presentation was held during the Farm City Celebration's first kick-off event of the month at the Butte County Farm Bureau’s new location, Four Corners Hall, in Durham.

In addition to this award, Butte County Department of Water and Resource Conservation received commendations from Sen. Brian Dahle, Assemblymember James Gallagher and Congressman Doug LaMalfa, who each recognized the department’s dedication to sustainable water resource management and its positive impact on the community.

Other honorees included Northgate Petroleum, awarded Agri-Business of the Year, and Butte County Farm Bureau Executive Director Colleen Cecil, who received the Ag Service Award.

This honor underscores Butte County Department of Water and Resource Conservation’s commitment to the agricultural community through dedicated service, research and public engagement. The department actively collaborates with local organizations and participates in events such as the Farm City Agri-Business Bus Tour, now in its 44th year. The annual tour fosters connections between urban and rural residents, promoting education and raising awareness about the vital roles agriculture and water resources play in Butte County.
