BUTTE COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The Butte County Board of Supervisors has adopted a resolution setting a deadline of Jan. 15, 2025, for Park Fire and Thompson Fire-impacted residents to enroll in the State Debris Removal Program.

Under the county ordinance, all residents whose properties were affected by the recent Park and Thompson Fires are required to enroll in a Debris Removal Program to restore the health and safety of impacted communities and make way for the rebuild process. The enrollment deadline of Jan. 15, 2025, ensures all eligible properties can be cleared promptly and that resources are allocated effectively.

Detailed instructions, guidance and enrollment forms for both the State and Alternative Debris Removal Programs are available on the county’s website at bit.ly/disasterrecoverybutte under Phase II Debris Removal. The ROE Center continues to be open with staff available to answer questions and assist residents with the process. The ROE Center is located at 765 East Ave., Suite 130, Chico.

Failure to enroll in the program by the Jan. 15 deadline will result in the inability to participate in the State Debris Removal Program, which could delay recovery efforts for individual homeowners and require them to complete the Alternative Program requirements.

Cal OES has also opened its Disaster Recovery Operations Center for residents who are enrolled in the State Program to ask questions and get information. That office is located at 1367 E.
