GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – On Saturday, Oct. 26, the #2 seed 10U Gridley Titans matched up against the #3 seed 10U Corning Lions in Cottonwood. The last time these two teams met, it was a close game with the Titans winning by five points. This time around it was a different story, the Titans dominated the Corning Lions on both sides of the ball. The final score was 27-0 Titans.

The Titans defense only allowed one first down which came late in the game. Israel Hernandez had a big play on defense stripping the ball from Corning's running back with a recovery by Nash Benson. On offense the Titans scored on every drive but one, for a total of four touchdowns on the day. Boss Davis threw a touchdown pass to Weston Paquette early in the game. The Titans had three rushing touchdowns as well, with two by Deandre Carothers and one by Israel Hernandez.

With the win the 10U Titans are headed to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Willows, where they will face off against the only team to beat them this year, the West Valley Jr. Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
