Let’s Talk About Thankfulness
Nov 04, 2024 09:08AM ● By Seti LongBIGGS, CA (MPG) - In the spirit of gratitude and fellowship, Pastor Bob Culverson and the Biggs Assembly of God Church present a series of speakers focusing on thankfulness as we move into the holidays.
On the evenings of Nov. 7, 8 and 9, religious leaders will speak on thankfulness and gratitude. Guests can expect a variety of presenters from different churches. Local pastor Ed Milton will take the podium on Nov. 7, Bishop Michael Scaggs out of Oregon is expected to speak on the Friday, Nov. 8 and the Nov. 9 speaker is planned to be Pastor Rick Scribner.
Speakers are Christian based but hail from different religious backgrounds. Culverson said that this is a perfect way to show that members of other faiths and even those of no faith may be experiencing the same obstacles as his own congregation, making this a perfect time to fellowship and be of service.
Culverson says that events such as this are a growing trend within the faith communities. He shares that it was visiting a similar event with one of his deacons years back that inspired the Biggs Assembly of God Church to begin their own event.
2024 marks the second year that Biggs has held the event and hopes that residents of all faiths and backgrounds will attend.
After each speaker there will be time to build fellowship and mingle, with light snacks and refreshments provided. Upon the conclusion of Saturday's speaker, Culverson plans to hold a full pot-luck dinner for attendees.
