GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, Oct. 19, the 12U Gridley Titans football team dominated the 12U Siskiyou Jr Trojans with a 36-0 shutout.

The playoffs were on the line for the Titans, and they had no intention of letting that slip away. The team lived up to its motto, “Go for broke!”, which they adopted from the historical 442nd Regiment of the United States Army during WWII.

The 12U Titans played a very physical game and struck early to bring the score to 22-0 in the first half. During the second half of the game, the 12U Titans were relentless on both sides of the ball and triggered the mercy-rule with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. This win brings the Titans’ record to 5-4. The team will travel to Anderson on Saturday, Oct. 26, to take on the West Valley Jr Eagles in the first round of the playoffs.
