BIGGS, CA (MPG) - Del Kalbach Stadium was lined with stars and stripes as the Biggs Wolverines kicked off their first home game of the 2024 football season on Friday Sept. 20.
Spirits were high as the student section rallied fans, waved green and black flags in the air and rooted players on with the help of Wolverine cheerleaders.
Biggs JV team would play a nail-biter game, coming out victorious with a win of 22-21 over the Durham Trojans.
Soon after, the Varsity boys would take the field, followed by a gorgeous patriotic display honoring the United States which included a giant American flag unfurled at the 50-yard line and the Beal Air Force Base Color Guard.

The student cheering section made a ton of noise, encouraging fans to root for both JV and Varsity Biggs football teams.
Throughout the game, Biggs would dominate and then allow little room for Durham to score. Powerhouse Davis Long would run up the middle of the field on multiple plays, pushing through defenders for hard earned yardage. Ball carrier Logan Harrison, another favorite target of quarterback Skylar Long, also ate up yardage on the field.
Before the half, the Trojans would return a punt for a touchdown, putting a little pressure on Biggs. Thanks to a flag on the field, the penalty would negate the TD. Biggs remained in the lead and widened the point deficit during the third quarter.
