BIGGS, CA (MPG) - The field and stands of Biggs High’s stadium was packed Saturday as teams from Gridley and Biggs met in a pre-season scrimmage.

Both the JV and varsity teams took the field at 10 a.m., Aug. 17, splitting the gridiron in half to put practiced offensive and defensive maneuvers into action.

Quarterbacks from each team got a chance to intimidate rival defenses, with heavy hitters blocking and attempting to protect the pocket at the direction of coaches.

Four 15-minute halves would end in time for a lunch break before they returned to the field again for more work before the start of the season.

Biggs will travel to Redding, opening their season against Redding Christian on Friday, Sept. 9.

Gridley is set to begin their season with an away game against University Prep, next Friday, Aug. 30.
