GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - With wildfires and others popping up all over the place, the community is hyper-vigilant when it comes to smoke and flames.

Gridley resident Zandon Stinnett stumbled across a strange site on Colusa Highway across from Kofford Road in Gridley —  a tree that appeared to be burning from the inside out.

With first responders alerted, Stinnett took a video of the fire and snapped a quick picture before firefighters arrived on scene.

The Herald reached out to Gridley Fire Department Station 74 for more information on the fire.

The incident is still under investigation and was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.
