GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - An extended heat warning has been issued by the National Weather Service, Sacramento.

After a triple-digit heat wave smashed records across the region, the National Weather Service has issued another excessive heat warning until Friday, July 12.

The National Weather Service reports that on July 6, Redding had an astonishing high of 119 degrees, with Oroville sitting at a scorching 114 degrees and Marysville at 112 degrees.

In addition, fire risk is increased this week due to the high temperatures, breezy winds and low humidity that are expected to persist until the weekend.

Currently, the forecast does not look like the temperatures will decrease, with temperatures expected to remain in the triple digits into the weekend.

A cooling center has been established at Gridley Parks and Recreation Building located at 194 Washington St., open from noon to 6 p.m.
