GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - A tradition is spreading throughout our area – Graduate Parades.

As multiple high schools in our area wrap another school year and send a new batch of young adults out into the world, graduates are taking the time to visit their beginnings, both reminiscing on their educational paths and inspiring their younger counterparts.

Live Oak High School has visited Luther Elementary School for years before their graduation, Manzanita Elementary School has started doing the same with their eighth-grade graduates, and now for the second year in a row, Gridley High School has followed suit.

Thursday, May 30, Gridley High School seniors dressed in their caps and gowns and visited their alma maters of McKinley, Wilson and Sycamore schools. The students at the respective schools lined the hallways or playgrounds, giving the seniors high fives and cheering them on as they passed by.

According to Gridley High School Leadership Advisor Jennifer Davidson, seniors delivered letters of appreciation to their past teachers and took a moment to take photos with younger siblings or former teachers.

Students at Sycamore Schools even made banners for seniors that they knew, wishing them luck at their future colleges and in their endeavors.
