CHICO, CA (MPG) - Chico is gearing up to host another exciting Memorial Day Weekend with American Flair at the Silver Dollar Fair! Join us Thursday May 23rd through Monday the 27th for food, fun, and livestock exhibition events for all ages. 4-H and FFA members can even participate in the Junior Livestock Auction, as well as other skill events.

Supporting local youth has always been a goal of the Silver Dollar Fair, and this year you can play a part too! Join us for our annual Junior Livestock Auctions in the Pavilion and help make this a memorable year for the local ag youth. The Sale of Champions on Friday May 24th will begin at 4:30PM, featuring the first and second place winners for each class. Saturday the 25th’s auction will begin at 9:00AM, featuring over 650 hogs, sheep, goats, rabbits, and steer, all for sale. By supporting these young entrepreneurs, you are helping them develop leadership and financial skills—and you get access to the freshest most wholesome livestock for your own table!

To register as a new buyer, please email a completed application to [email protected] – registration must be completed by 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 26th. If you can’t make it to the auction or don’t wish to purchase livestock but want to support the kids, you can also make a $50 or more donation to the participants.

For more Ag related fun, head over to the Diamond W Grandstands for some rodeo family fun the whole weekend. The Silver Dollar Bulls and Broncs Chute Out will be wowing crowds Friday, May 24th and Saturday, May 25th at 7:00PM. You won’t want to miss out on either night of thrilling rodeo action!
