Libraries Share a Wealth of Knowledge
Apr 17, 2024 04:11PM ● By Mickey MrakuzicGRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - The week of April 7–13 was celebrated as National Library Week.
Would you like to know what it was like to be a pirate on the high seas, follow adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood or visit the magical world of Narnia? These adventures and many others are waiting for you! All you have to do is pick up a book and read all about it! As Dr. Seuss said, “the more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Libraries provide access to information and resources for all members of the community. In addition to checking out books, they offer a variety of services such as researching records for family trees, programs for younger readers to encourage lifelong reading, free use of computers and internet, and one can even check out a California State Library Parks Pass to enjoy free vehicle day-use to over 200 participating state parks.
In the internet driven world, libraries continue to provide essential services for the community and preserve our history for future generations.
