Kids’ Choir Performs Musical

Mar 25, 2024 03:03PM ● By Ed Lucas

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - On Sunday, March 24th at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., the Kids’ Choir will present the musical “Good Kings Come in Small Packages”. Seventeen children from 4 years old through eighth grade will use their musical and dramatic talents to share the story of King Josiah from the Old Testament.

In this entertaining musical, our cooks (Isabella Taylor, Lyla Watson, Arabella Johnson) take us back in time to understand how an eight-year-old boy could become king.  King Amon (Ainsley Swanson) is a bad, bad king with a poor memory for names.  His tax collectors-Iripoff (Charile Hildebrand), Rakidin (Declan Hildebrand), and Uncle Sam (Marcus Hildebrand) are very good at picking people’s pockets.  Later, Amon’s son Josiah (Celeste Watson) becomes king-a good, good king.  He teaches the people to honor God with the help of his advisor Hilkiah (Keelia Hildebrand).

Everyone is invited to experience this unique Christian musical theater event.  Great music and simple choreography are combined with drama, costumes and lights making this a memorable time.

Gridley Christian Church is located at 580 Washington Street and is a place where everyone is family.  Music Camp will be held July 15th-21st. This camp is held free of charge.  Call Bonnie at (530)-933-9845 to register your child and for more information.
