Another round of wind, rain and snow is expected mid-week and through the weekend into the next. Some of the damage done by the last storm is pictured here.

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - After what meteorologists have called an atmospheric river slammed into California in early February, whipping the state with record high winds in some areas, and pelting rain, causing flooding and landslides, the aftermath was not pretty for many.

Hundreds of thousands of Californians were left in the dark Sunday February 4th, including those in Gridley and Live Oak. Some unfortunate Gridley residents were without power until Wednesday, February 7th, 3 days after the storm took down power lines, blew transformers, toppled trees and whisked away not only trampolines, but roofs and sheds.

California is expecting another round of storms. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services urges residents to be prepared for incoming weather and suggestions on how to plan can be found on the Cal OES website at https://wp.me/pd8T7h-95Z.

The US National Weather Service Sacramento suggests drivers winterize their vehicles, check their wipers and lights, and take measures such as unclogging gutters and storm drains before the storm’s arrival.

Locals should be prepared for potential road closures as the ground is still saturated as potential flooding in low areas is still a concern. To plan your route ahead, an interactive map and information on road closures in Butte County, please visit: www.buttecounty.net/964-Road-Conditions.
