Girls' Basketball

OROVILLE, CA (MPG) - The Gridley girls basketball team avenged their two first-half BVL losses as they beat Orland and Oroville last week.

The 58-51 victory over Orland on Tuesday, January 31, never got too out of hand, but the Lady Bulldogs had three double-digit scorers in junior forward Brook Marr (30) , senior guard AnaGloria Luevano (10) and sophomore Aubree Weber (10).

One of the biggest differences in the game was that Gridley took better care of the ball as they committed nine less turnovers than Orland.

In the 58-43 victory over the Oroville Tigers on Thursday, February 1, the lady Bulldogs had a 15-1 lead at the end of the first.

In the second quarter, Gridley was up by 18, but the lady Tigers scored the last 15 points of the quarter to make it a game.

The lady Bulldogs had 24 turnovers during the game and it was the first time they hit that number in the last couple of weeks.

Gridley will look to make history against Las Plumas on the road as the last time these two teams played on January 23, Marr scored her 1000 career point.
