Officer of the Year Awarded at American Legion Ceremony

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - A small gathering was held at the Biggs Community Center on January 31st, as American Legion Post 210 recognized local public service members.
CALFIRE/Gridley Fire Departments Dakota McGinnis is awarded Firefighter of the Year by American Legion Post 210.
Post Commander Owen Stiles brings back the first annual award ceremony since before pre-Covid in hopes of reinvigorating the community’s sense of trust, and reinforcing the bonds we share with our local service members who help to keep us safe.
Gridley Police Departments Clint Massey was awarded Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. He shared this moment with his family and co-workers who were present for the ceremony.

CALFIRE/Gridley Fire Departments’ Dakota McGinnis was all smiles as he was awarded Firefighter of the Year. McGinnis’s fellow members of the Butte County CALFIRE team applauded as his significant other pinned the medal upon his chest.
Many of the American Legion personnel present were awarded Meritorious Service Citations and corresponding Medals. The recipients include James Thomas, Aaron Burks, Norris Anderson, Frank Bartolomucci and Brad McDonal. Sharron Gayton also received this award but was not present at the beginning of the ceremony.

In addition to Meritorious Service Citations and Medals, Commander Owen Stiles also presented two of the Legionnaires with an additional award in recognition of their service and commitment. Norris Anderson was awarded Legionnaire of the Year, and Frank Bartolomucci was awarded a Life Member Certificate.
