Animal Control Program Alerts Public about Impersonation

Jan 17, 2024 05:03PM ● By Butte County Public Health News Release
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The Butte County Department of Public Health’s (BCPH) Animal Control Program is alerting residents, especially those who live in the unincorporated areas, that several Animal Control
vehicles were broken into earlier this week. Some items stolen, including blank animal control forms, could be used in an attempt to impersonate an Animal Control Officer.

If residents are approached by an Animal Control Officer, they should
ask to see their Butte County Animal Control personnel ID badges. Residents who suspect they have been approached by someone impersonating a Butte County Animal Control Officer are asked to contact Animal Control at 530-552-3888.
