BIGGS, CA (MPG) - Once again, the annual Run Around the Rice event was well attended and supported by surrounding communities.

Over 200 participants from Biggs and surrounding areas participated in the educational and healthy fundraiser for the Biggs Elementary and Middle Schools. Runners couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather Sunday, September 10th and were privy to the scenic beauty of the rice fields before harvest.

To keep runners and walkers hydrated, fuel stations were provided by Tony’s Fruit Stand, Tahoe Pure, Go A Little Nuts, and Lundberg Family Farms.

Those who chose to participate in this yearly run raised $33,000 for Biggs schools!

Winners with top times received gift baskets donated from Sunwest Milling, Lavender Ranch, Klean Kanteen, California Olive Ranch, The Wildflower, Starbucks, Arranged Petals, Fleet Feet and Tri-L Mandarins.
