GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Gridley VFW Post 5731 was the first in the state of California to use the Veterans of Foreign Wars new travel trailer.

The trailer is beautifully wrapped in a VFW graphic and is to be made available to posts throughout the state when needed.

Ed Kawasaki of VFW Post 5731 joined District 15 Commander Mike DiGiordano to premier the new addition during their time at Butte County Fair. They used the eye-catching trailer as a backdrop to their station, hoping that it would draw the attention of Veterans and fair goers alike. Their goal at the fair was to recruit new members, raise funds for their scholarships and aid in the sale of poppies, which are a reminder of the fallen and symbol of support for veterans.

VFW Post 5731 meets at 6:00pm the first Wednesday of the month at the Gridley Veterans Memorial Hall located at 249 Sycamore Street.
